The last few months have been so crazy for us. Between working full time jobs, taking care of a baby, our wedding business and also getting married ourselves, it has left little time for us to post content to the extent that we want to. We do have a little bit of time before our next double header weekend, so there are a few articles that I’m putting together. I wanted to start with the wedding we shot this weekend at The Park Savoy.
We had the opportunity to connect with Marie earlier in the year. Her and her fiancé, Jeff, were getting married on November 26th at the Park Savoy and were interested in having us capture video for their big day. We, of course, said yes and the rest was history.
We have had a lot of couples inquire with us who were getting married at The Park Savoy, but this was the first time we actually shot here. It was absolutely beautiful! The venue felt tight and cozy and everything was decorated for Christmas. There was even a wine cellar in the basement, where Jeff and the guys got ready.
Laura hung out upstairs with Marie and the bridesmaids while I mostly stayed downstairs with Jeff and the groomsmen. Marie and Jeff’s photographer was Moses Cruz Photography. They (Moses and Stephanie) are a husband and wife duo and were so incredible to work with. They were both super friendly and accommodating and we couldn’t recommend them enough!
Marie and Jeff had their first look outside by The Park Savoy’s chapel. The sun was positioned perfectly to give them a nice backlit glow. Afterwards, we captured some moments of them with their family and bridal party before their ceremony.
While setting up for the ceremony, we crossed paths with a familiar face. The same person who married Laura and I a few weeks ago (and my sister a few months before that) was there to officiate the marriage of Marie and Jeff. We took a few minutes to catch up with Ben Hickey before the ceremony started and had the unique perspective of seeing him in action from a distance. We might be a bit biased, but Marie and Jeff picked a great officiant.
The reception was beautiful. They had a band called TIFusion and they were really good. We’ve been seeing a lot more bands at weddings lately and it’s a refreshing change of pace. They were all super nice and came out to the dance floor and got everybody involved.
The day couldn’t have been better. The weather was great and the day went so smoothly. We wish Marie and Jeff the happiest life together and can’t wait to start putting together their wedding video!
